Welcome to the Festival Blog!

This year we are making a blog available on the AIFF website. Come here to view trailers, read reviews, discuss films, and find out more about a film or filmmaker. Also we hope to have first hand accounts of special events like the Opening Night Gala.

Over the next couple of weeks I hope to get a bunch of trailers posted.

If you are interested in becoming a blogger for the festival, please fill out the volunteer form we’ll be in touch.

There was a great enthusiastic turnout for “Moose on the Loose” and “Polarized” at the Anchorage Museum on Saturday (Dec. 1). I had seen this film as a screener at home, but it was much better on a big screen and especially with a theatre full of Alaskans sharing the adventures of our favorite wildlife crusaders, Rick Sinnot and Jessy Coltrane. We laughed together as we saw wildlife in familiar settings and learned more about the challenges of managing both the animals and the people in our home town. Beautifully made by the BBC crew for a British audience, the film had dramatic shots of Anchorage at all seasons featuring our moose, bear, and others animal neighbors living their lives among us.
Making it even better, the two 2 legged stars of the show,Jessie and Rick were there to Q & A afterward. The audience peppered them with questions about the making of the film and wildlife issues impacting our community.
“Moose on the Loose” shows again at OUT NORTH on friday at 6pm along with “The Dalai Lama’s Cat”.
    See them if you can!
    Enjoy the festival!
