Director of Operations

Kim Walsh joins the 24th Anchorage International Film Festival as the Director of Operations working alongside the festival’s new Co-Directors Adam Linkenhelt and Pat McGee and Director of Sponsorship Caroline Pease Murphy, bringing with her a strong passion for Independent Film and Original Music for film and an inquisitive nature, excited to learn about Alaska and the diverse cultures, languages and history of the indigenous people of Alaska.

Kim started her film festival journey as a box office agent in 2012 with the Woods Hole Film Festival and quicky became more involved as the Director of Sponsorship, Box Office Manager, Special Events Coordinator and Filmmaker Liaison during the five years with WHFF.

After the WHFF, in 2019, Kim joined the Nantucket Film Festival for a season to try something new and also worked the same year for the Key West Film Festival where she currently lives on a Carver 33 Foot Mariner in the heart of an old school Key West style marina which she refers to as living in a real life movie set complete with Pirates and Treasure Hunters!

For the last 4 years Kim has had the honor of being the Sundance Film Festival’s welcoming smile at Robert Redford’s private screening room located on a mountain top in Utah at the Sundance Mountain Resort, also working in the hub of the 2024 Sundance Main Box Office in Park City.

She is looking forward to contributing to the grass roots growth of the upcoming 24th Anchorage International Film Festival and has already met many locals on a recent visit to Anchorage that are looking forward to joining the festival this year with joining our Cool Volunteer Team and with joining our new Adopt – a – Film Program. Local business can join to help support local high school kids to attend a complementary screening at this year’s offerings at the Anchorage Museum.

A note from Kim:
